How to Draw Cat Girls

Cat girls or Nekomusume in Japanese ("cat daughter")[1] make an excellent subject for drawing. They're cute, they're feline and human at once and they're a fun drawing project.

EditSteps

  1. 1
Draw the head of the cat girl. Draw an oval with a triangle point on bottom.

    • Add in the typical anime girl features such as large anime eyes and small cute nose and mouth features.
    • Also draw in the hair; keep it simple and shaped into or around the face for additional cuteness.
  2. 2
Draw the body. Follow each of the drawing prompts provided here in a step-by-step fashion. Create a slim, elongated shape. The cat girl needs to be flexible, strong and shapely to be able to carry out her feline human lifestyle!

  3. 3
Add cat's ears to the girl's headDraw triangles on either side of the head positioned neither too high nor too low. Follow the drawing example.

  4. 4
Draw a tail. The tail type is up to you – you might want to do some research on different types of tails from tabbies to tigers – maybe there will be a cute kitty with the perfect tail. Or simply follow the design shown here. The important thing is to have the tail pointed upward to denote happiness or playfulness; only draw it straight down or between her legs if she's depressed or angry!

  5. 5
Dress the cat girl. Cat girls wear clothes that allow for fluid movement and still look good at the same time (after all, cats care about keeping their appearance nice). The colors and outfit are really up to you but try to err on the side of using Japanese women's or anime fashion for inspiration.

    • The image shown here is a typical Japanese school uniform style with a sailor collar. It's adorable and it's realistic for a cat girl.
  6. 6
Add bows. Bows are a female anime character classic addition and they complete the look. Concentrate on a bow for the hair and around the collar. If you want, bows on the shoes could work too.

  7. 7
Outline the whole drawing in indelible marker so that it can be colored in without losing the finer lines. Erase any lines that aren't needed now.

  8. 8
Color in the cat girl as required. The colors are entirely up to you and once done, touch up details on the face and anywhere else. If wished, take a photo and upload her to your web page or share on Google+, Facebook or Twitter.

How to Draw Hello Kitty

Are you a big fan of this cute little character? Do you want to draw this character? Hello Kitty is a popular character created by Sanrio. This is a quick and easy tutorial on how to draw Hello Kitty.

EditSteps

Method One: A Sitting Hello Kitty

  1. 1
Draw a large oval for the head. Make sure you add in guidelines for the eyes and nose: they are very helpful to draw the facial features. They should cross as seen, so you can use them in the next step when you add those features.

  2. 2
Sketch in two ovals for the eyes. Between and below them, draw another oval for her nose.

  3. 3
Add two triangles for the ears, and three lines in each cheek for the whiskers. They can vary in length and flair; the usual style is shown here.

  4. 4
At the left ear, start drawing her ribbon. Draw a large circle and two small circles on each side overlapping the large one. Draw two triangles in each side of the circle with curved sides.

  5. 5
Draw a large, round-edged triangle. Draw two ovals for the feet.

  6. 6
For the arms, draw ovals for each. Don't forget two circles for her thumb! Hello Kitty doesn’t really have fingers, like a human, or paws, like a cat; her look is unique to her, so try hard to get it right.

  7. 7
Add in her clothes. She usually wears a jumper and a shirt. (You can dress her in any kind of clothing you’d like, though!)

  8. 8
Outline the image. Erase the guidelines and any other unnecessary marks.now your hello kitty's basic sketch is ready!!

  9. 9
Color in your drawing. Use primarily shades of pink, with a dot of yellow for her nose and darker eyes/whiskers. You're done!

Method Two: A Standing Hello Kitty

  1. 1
Draw an oblong which matches the big head of Hello Kitty.

  2. 2
Draw a purse-shape below the oblong. Draw a vertical line at the middle of the two shapes.

  3. 3
Draw the hands or arms using curve lines. Draw small circles in each arm.

  4. 4
Draw lines in the body for the clothes.

  5. 5
Draw details for Hello Kitty’s ears, eyes, nose, and whiskers.

  6. 6
Draw a flower at the right upper part of the head.

  7. 7
Trace with a pen and erase unnecessary lines.

  8. 8
    Color to your liking!
